After the bikes arrived, we were fitted on them. While getting fitted, the person fitting me told me about how he's so great at fitting bikes and the great person from whom he learned. Fast foreword to actual riding &, after hundreds of miles, both my wife & myself were in pain from being fitted incorrectly. The only conclusions I can think of are that either the person fitting us only knows how to fit mountain bikes or that he just had absolutely no clue.
Other bikers referred us to Spin Bike Shop (Lakewood). We paid for new fittings & now feel great on our bikes. My Mountain Road Cycles fitting was so far off that Spin raised my seat 6 inches (not exaggerating).
The original and finest bicycle shop in the Chagrin Valley. Modest guys with tremendous wisdom.
I recently bought a bike from here and while I was in the process of buying it I had a lot of questions on my mind and without even having to ask them every single question and then some were answered. The people here really know what they're doing and are incredibly helpful. I look forward to going back for all my cycling needs. 7 out of 5 stars.
In the end, Mountain Road lost a customer to Spin. They may not care so much since they already made the bike sale, but the bike they sold me is now my backup bike. A year later I upgraded significantly.
2 years ago, I bought road bikes for my wife & myself. They weren't the most expensive bikes, but at $2,000 a piece they definitely weren't the cheapest. I was just getting back into the sport and had questions, but both times I was there, I only got answers that made me understand that I was bothering them by asking questions. I quickly understood that the people working there were too cool for questions. (They should put up a sign because I didn't realize how cool they were when I first came in.)
